Connect Billabex to Dust

Add Billabex as a remote MCP server in Dust, choose its space, and configure user approvals.

Updated

In short

In Dust, an administrator adds remote MCP servers from Spaces and Tools. Paste the Billabex URL, let Dust synchronize its capabilities, and complete OAuth. Then place the tool in the space that needs it, add it to the relevant agents, and keep a high approval level for actions that modify data.

Expected result

The Billabex server is connected in the correct Dust space and an authorized agent can perform a controlled read.

Before you start

  • You must be a Dust workspace administrator.
  • Decide whether the tool belongs in the company space or only in selected spaces.

Procedure

  1. In Billabex, copy the official URL from Settings > Integrations.
  2. In Dust, open Spaces > Tools, then Add Tool > Add MCP Server.
  3. Paste the public URL, choose automatic OAuth authentication, and complete the Billabex connection.
  4. After synchronization, restrict sharing to the relevant spaces and add the tool to the required agents.
  5. Set User Approval Settings to a risk-appropriate level, then test a read with an agent.

What Billabex does

Dust synchronizes server tools and manages their sharing by space. Remote MCP servers offer High, Low, or Never ask approval levels; the most permissive setting is unsuitable for Billabex tools that can write data.

If the result is not what you expected

  • If Add MCP Server is missing, confirm that you are an admin editing the correct space.
  • If synchronization fails, check the public URL and repeat OAuth without creating duplicate servers.
  • If an agent cannot see Billabex, check both tool sharing and that agent’s tool configuration.
