# Connect and configure Qonto

In short

From Settings and Data sources, add Qonto and authorize Billabex to read the client invoices of your Qonto company. Access is read-only, with no API key to copy. Then choose the accounts to synchronize, activate the connection, and wait for the first import to finish before comparing a few invoices with Qonto.

## Expected result

The Qonto connection is active. Your customers, their finalized invoices and the related credit notes appear in Billabex with their PDF, and the agent can start following up on unpaid invoices.

## Before you start

- Use a Qonto login that can view the client invoices of the company concerned.
- If your Qonto login opens several companies, identify the one that issues the invoices to follow up.
- Decide who sends reminders to your customers: connecting Billabex does not turn off Qonto's automatic reminders.
- Prepare two test accounts, one with an unpaid invoice and one with a paid invoice.

## Procedure

1. Open **Settings > Data sources** and choose **Add a data source**.
2. Select **Qonto**, then **Next**. Billabex lists what it will be able to do (read invoices, credit notes, accounts, contacts and payments) and what it will not be able to do (create or modify anything). Choose **Accept**.
3. Sign in to Qonto and approve the requested authorization. Qonto then sends you back to Billabex.
4. The first **Configure the connection** step requires no setting for Qonto: choose **Next**.
5. On the second **Configure the connection** screen, name the connection and choose the **Accounts to sync**: all, all except some, or only some. Finish with **Activate connection**.
6. The first import starts. You can close the page: an email lets you know when everything is ready. Then compare your test accounts with Qonto.

## What Billabex does

Billabex imports your Qonto customers with their address, SIREN or VAT number, primary email, additional emails and phone number. It picks up finalized invoices, both unpaid and paid, their PDF and the credit notes attached to them. Drafts are not imported, and an invoice canceled in Qonto disappears from Billabex.

Every invoice change in Qonto triggers an update, and a full synchronization runs at least once a day. Qonto states whether an invoice is paid or not: as soon as it is marked paid in Qonto, Billabex treats it as settled and stops following it up.

Access stays read-only. Billabex writes nothing to Qonto: no invoice, no customer, no payment.

## If the result is not what you expected

- A freshly finalized invoice may be missing for a moment: Qonto generates its PDF after finalization, and the invoice arrives with the next synchronization.
- A customer imported without a contact has no email in its Qonto record. Complete it in Qonto so the agent can write to them.
- A partial payment does not appear: Qonto only shares a paid or unpaid status. An invoice keeps being followed up for its full amount until it is marked paid.
- A payment already recorded in Qonto is not reflected: open the connection and choose **Sync now**.
- If the connection switches to **Reconnection required**, choose **Restore connection** in its panel and authorize Billabex again in Qonto.
- If the message "The Qonto connection failed" appears when you return from Qonto, start the setup again from Billabex.
