In short

Reply from the Billabex task, never its notification email. A user interaction normally sets **In progress** while the agent processes it. **Pending** snoozes the task and clears on the next message. **Closed** means the workflow finished; **Canceled** means the request no longer applies and is unavailable for some types.

## Expected result

Your reply appears in the thread and the task reaches the state matching actual processing.

## Before you start

- Read the thread from top to bottom and confirm the account.
- Prepare only the information requested in the latest interaction.

## Procedure

1. Open a task marked **User action required** or **Pending**.
2. Enter text or use the proposed structured response.
3. Submit once and wait for the message to appear in the timeline.
4. Use snooze when a decision is missing, or cancel when the request is obsolete and allows it.
5. Check the final Closed or Canceled milestone and any account resumption.

## What Billabex does

User interaction is accepted only when input is expected or the task is pending. Creation, pending, and terminal milestones frame messages to preserve a full timeline.

## If the result is not what you expected

- A Need contacts task rejects cancellation by design.
- When a reply is visible, do not resend while status updates.
- A closed task cannot receive more interactions; open the account for a new issue.
