Send an email or SMS
Choose an account, a recipient, and the right channel to send a message immediately from Billabex.
Updated
In short
From messaging or a customer account, choose Send a message, then email or SMS. Billabex asks you to select the account and recipient before opening the composer. Email uses no credits; SMS uses the selected mobile number and shows its exact credit cost based on the number of segments before sending.
Expected result
The message is sent to the selected recipient and appears in the account communication history.
Before you start
- Check that the account has an active contact with a valid email address or SMS-capable mobile number.
- For SMS, make sure the credit balance covers the displayed cost.
Procedure
- In Messaging, click Send a message, or open the menu on a customer account.
- Choose Send an email or Send an SMS.
- From messaging, first select the relevant account.
- Choose the recipient’s exact email address or mobile number.
- Review the proposed message, edit it if needed, and check the SMS cost.
- Send, then open the communication to follow its status.
What Billabex does
A manual email reschedules the next automatic action so two messages are not sent too close together. For SMS, Billabex stores the number actually selected, charges the announced credits, and then displays the Sent, Delivered, or Failed status returned by the carrier.
If the result is not what you expected
- Without an active contact suited to the channel, sending remains unavailable.
- A long SMS may use several segments and therefore several credits; the counter shows this before confirmation.
- Delivered confirms technical delivery, not reading or payment.
